Yeah, late again, I know... uhm... can I blame this one on Triple Triad? Probably not. At any rate, lots of time between updates means lots of pics per update. That may not be how most people prefer it, but at least it's something, right?
The flood of FF8 pics continues to grow deeper, not that I'm minding one bit! Squall is so far the most highly visible and frequently drawn character, and in fact today's update holds three beautiful portraits of him by Abigail Hamaker, Wulfmune, and Beth Bisson. Quistis seems to be gaining a following as well, and there are two very different pictures of her in today's gallery, by Nutz and Amy Hanna. K-chan contributes a darling picture of the "FF8 Gals", and Eiji Gen contributes a sweet CG of Squall and Rinoa in "Promise me". Laura paints an excellent picture of Seifer, Edison Yan gives us an awesome Edea picture, and Petra Rödig does a marvelous job capturing the mythical nature of the Guardian Force known as Siren.
With all the fuss about the newest FF, Cyph takes us back to the NES days with "FFClassic: Choose your party", featuring the cast of characters from the original Final Fantasy game. Pamela Ramali gives us a great pic of FF6's Terra, and Aeralea's "Shadows" pays homage to FF7's Sephiroth. In non-FF artwork, which is certainly not to be taken less seriously, we have a picture of Chrono Trigger's Janus which is remarkably faithful to the Toriyama design, from Alaer Kino. Becky's rendition of Vagrant Story's Sidney is not to be missed, and YC Tan has another beautiful picture of Sakura, from Sakura Taisen. Blood Omen: Legacy of Kain is represented in today's update with a rather creepy picture of Kain himself, by Ben. Wulfmune's "Hero" comes from Suikoden 2, and Seiken Densetsu's Riesz is drawn beautifully by Pamela Ramali.
And to answer a recurring question I get, in case you've been wondering... yes, you can send in pictures that are not done with CG programs like Photoshop. I enjoy artwork done in basically any media, be it Photoshop, pencil and paper, oil paints, a sculpture, or even your little brother's crayons, as long as it's done with care. I have no prejudices for or against any type of media, and I like to think most people who view these galleries are the same way. So by all means, if there's something you've done in an "unusual" medium, send it along!
