Hello there! My name's Andrea Hartmann. You might remember me from such features as Tickle-Me Elmdor, and FFVII for the Atari 2600. All right, now that I've eased the awkward introduction a bit with the Troy McClure reference, I guess I should let you know a little about myself and why I'm here. I've been an artist for pretty much my entire 21 years, as well as a video game fanatic. My latest creative passion has been web design, so naturally when I got the chance to join GIA, I thought it was really great - video games and web design are two of my greatest loves. When the opportunity to do Sketch Artist opened up, of course I went for it. Video games, web design, and art all in one? What could be more perfect? (Well, maybe if I could involve Dar Williams or John Lennon somehow...) So I'm going to be giving this my best shot over the next few weeks, as it's something I love. I sincerely hope I can live up to the excellent job BSM did before his departure, and keep updating on time. If I don't, you have full permission to write in and flame me. ;) At any rate, I'm not the only new face in this update. Hendrick Sukardi premieres in today's Sketch Artist with a sketch of Breath of Fire III's Ryu, who appears much more mature than he's usually portrayed as. Also, Petra Rödig returns in a big way, with three new pictures. Hanpan's never looked cuddlier than he does in this pencil portrait, thanks to the careful shading of his fur. The hero of Suikoden stands tall, looking as if he's ready to face anything as "Leader of the Liberation Army", while the other watercolor, "Dragon's Flight", shows a fantastic scene of soaring through the clouds. Now, I know this is a smaller update than usual... think of this as your free trial size update. ;) Seriously, the size of my updates depends on how many submissions I get, so it's up to you guys to keep Sketch Artist going strong. So now that you know who I am, and what's happening with Sketch Artist, I hope I can have the pleasure of working with as many of you as possible. Till next time...
