Dan. Alice's hydrocephalic younger brother Dan is definitely
one of the game's most annoying characters. He first
attempts to get Fei to elope with Alice before she
marries Timothy, then after Lahan is destroyed,
vows to kill Fei for what he did. Eventually, he
moves to Shevat, where he learns about Id and Fei's
past, and at the end of the game reconciles with Fei.
Too bad, I would've liked to see him be the final boss
or something...
Big Joe. The unimitable Big Joe serves no actual role in the
plot, but he's cool anyway. Mostly he just shows up
in random places around the world, showing off and
speaking in broken Spanish (in the Japanese version, he
speaks broken English). One of my favorite
characters ^_^.
Kaiser Sigmund.
Ruler of Kislev and Rico's apparent father. There's
not a whole lot to say about him, but he seems to like
playing the organ. Hammer's comments in Disc 2
indicate that he may have died somewhere.
Old Man Balthazar. One of three Sages of Shevat, Bal is a master of
Gears. Like the other Sages, he lives in seclusion
on the surface, choosing to dwell in a cave under
the Aveh desert. Spells his name differently from his
son and granddaughter ^_^.
Nikolai Balthasar. Maria's father, a brilliant scientist but a poor
speller. While working for Solaris, he created a
way to combine humans and Gears, but then learned
that Krelian planned to use it to as part of his
plan to resurrect Deus. He attempted to escape
Solaris with Maria, but was killed in the process
and his consciousness stored in Achtzehn. However,
Solaris was unaware that he had installed a conscience
circuit in Achtzehn, allowing him to transfer his
consciousness to Maria's Siebzehn when they fought.
Gear: Achtzehn
Taura Melchior. Another one of the three Sages of Shevat, except
that he lives in a remote house in a forest on the
ground. He is an expert in nanotechnology, and was
the one who trained Krelian in its use. When Fei
and Elly are found unconscious after being shot down
by Ramsus, Taura takes them to his cabin and heals
them with his nanomachines.
Gaspar. The slacker amongst the three Sages; Gaspar doesn't
do a whole lot. All he does is remove the party's
Limiters and train them in martial arts, giving them
7 AP.
Chief Lee. The chief of Lahan Village; he adopted Fei after Wiseman
brought him to the village. He dies when Fei destroys
the town.
Timothy. Fei's best friend, he is getting married to Alice when
the game begins. When Kislev and Aveh fight in Lahan,
Timothy manages to escape, but returns to look for Dan
(who was looking for Alice's wedding dress). He is
shot by a Gear, and, enraged at death of his friend, Fei
'awakens' and totals the town.
Alice. Dan's sister; she is getting married to Timothy, but
it is hinted that she would rather marry Fei. Dies
when Lahan is destroyed.
Yui Uzuki. Citan's wife, famous for her cooking. Yui has a very
minor role in the game; all she does is give Citan his
sword before he leaves for Solaris. She stays behind
in Shevat (where she was born) to aid the people from
Lahan. Vanishes on Disc 2.
Midori Uzuki. Citan and Yui's daughter. Takes after Crono; she doesn't
talk much ^_^.
Hans. First mate of the Thames, Hans is either a penguin
or a dolphin, depending on whom you ask. He provides
a counterpoint to the Captain's brash behavior and
is the voice of reason on the Thames. He escapes the
destruction of the Thames by Deus, and marries Anna,
whom he rescues.
Franz. The penguin (dolphin?) on the Yggdrasil's deck; he actually
has some role in piloting the ship. If you talk him in the
game, he plays random sound effects for you. A very minor
character, but I had to mention him 'cuz he's cool.
Anna. Yet another penguin/dolphin, Anna lost her husband when
the Wels attacked the Thames and was left to raise their
kids, Lance and Kanna. Hans rescued her when Deus was
destroyed the Thames, and they were married soon after.
Verlaine. One of Stone's men; after offing the pontiff of the
-Ethos-, he starts to tell Billy about the purpose of
the organization, and is promptly shot dead by Stone
for talking too much.
Maitreya. The leader of Bart's troops. He accompanies Fei to
the Kislev border during the assault on Bledavik, where
he helps Fei fight Vanderkaum's Dora. Grahf then
grants Vanderkaum "the power", and Vanderkaum starts
firing energy blasts at the assembled soldiers.
Maitreya tries to let Fei escape while he holds off
Vanderkaum, but then Fei turns into Id and destroys
both Vanderkaum and all the troops.
Gear: Deurmod
Falkon. One of Bart's soldiers; he helps out Fei during his
assault on the Kefeinzel at the Kislev borders and
during the battle with the Dora. Dies when Fei turns
into Id and fries the whole platoon.
Gear: Deurmod
Rico's Gang. Leonardo, Heinrich, Vargas, and Suzarn are a bunch
of flunkies that hang out with Rico to do his bidding
in Nortune. Fei bests them in his Baptismal Ceremony,
leading them to become jealous of this newcomer. When
Fei's Gear malfunctions, he turns into Id and takes
out his anger on them, whom he believes responsible.
Gears: Ganador, others
Rue Cohen. Head of the Kislev Battling Committee. Under Grahf's
direction, she attemps to get Fei to join Battling in
order to 'awaken' him. While unsuccesful at first,
Fei eventually joins when he realizes that is the only
way to leave the city and fulfill his promise to Bart
to protect Margie.
The Wave Existance. A mysterious god-like being from another dimension that
was trapped in Deus's engine Zohar, and gave its
powers to Fei and Elly so they could destroy Deus
and free it. It appears differently depending on how
one perceives it.
Samson. A 3rd-class Solaris citizen whom Fei mistakes for Timothy.
In a very Biggs and Wedge-esque manuever, he joins with Fei
and Elly to try to escape Solaris, only to be incinerated
by the security gate because he didn't have proper ID.
Oops.
The Chu-Chu Tribe. Frightening band of furry animals that dwells in Shevat.
They originally made their home in a forest on the land,
but, after the Great War, were taken by the Gurus to
live in Shevat. Wiseman brought one of the Chu-Chus back
down to the land to protect Margie; that's the Chu-Chu
that joins you. The Chu-Chu Tribe (all of whom are
named "Chu-Chu", they're like Mr. Saturn in Earthbound)
worship the Wonderous Mambo god, whose legend can be found
in the quotes section.
Lucca. Yes, the Lucca from Chrono Trigger ^_^. She makes a brief
appearance in Lahan Village to teach you how to use the
save points (and then steals your money).
Gear: Uh... Robo maybe?
