Wong Fei Fong. Xenogears's main character; the fifth in a series of
reincarnations of a boy on the Eldridge who saw the Wave
Existance. While at an early age, he was discovered
as the Contact, the one who was capable of meeting with
the Wave Existance. Solaris subjected him to a series
of tests, which resulted in Fei releasing his power and
killing his mother Karen. He then became Id and worked
with Grahf for many years before Khan managed to seal
his Id personality and create a new one. This resulted
in Fei having a severe case of Disassociative Identity
Disorder. While in his "Fei" personality, Fei has no
memories of his other selves, which may account for his
generally cluelessness.
Elhaym Van Houten. Like Fei, Elly is reincarnated through the ages, but
she always ends up dying ^_^. In her current incarnation,
she is the Fire member of Elements; supposedly a first-class
citizen of Solaris, but actually half Lamb. Despite her
position in the Solaris military, she sympathizes with
the Lambs, much to the aggravation of her squadron.
Elly eventually quits the Solaris military and joins
with Fei. Near the end of the game, she is possessed
by Miang.
Citan Uzuki. First-class citizen of Solaris; his real name is
Hyuga Ricdeau. While in the Elements, he joins with
Sigurd to support Ramsus's rebellion against the
Solaris class system. After leaving Elements, Emperor
Cain assigns him as a "Guardian Angel" to watch over
Fei to determine where he is a threat to the world.
Citan eventually concludes that he is not, and sides
with Fei. He speaks rather strangely; he never uses
contractions and talks to himself a lot. Although he
is allegedly a doctor, he never performs one act of
medical treatment anywhere in the game.
Bartholomew Fatima. Exiled prince of Aveh. When Bart was still young, his
parents were killed by Shakhan in his military takeover.
Bart fled with Sigurd, Margie, and Maison, and
eventually turned to piracy to try to weaken Shakhan's
hold on the country. Although he is outwardly
brash and confident, he worries about whether he will
be able to serve as king once Shakhan is defeated.
Ricardo Banderas. A rather blatant rip-off of Blanka from Street Fighter,
Rico is a demi-human who lives in Nortune, the capital
of Kislev. He is the three-time champion of Battling,
but chooses to remain in D Block and keep fighting rather
than accept freedom. He is apparently the son of the
Kaiser, but this is never really resolved, as the scene
where it was supposed to be tied up was cut ;_;.
Billy Lee Black. Son of Citan's and Sigurd's former comrade Jessiah
Black, Billy would just as soon have no dealings with
his father. He works for the -Ethos- as an Etone, an
exorcist who destroys Wels. He never doubts his faith,
at least until he discovers that the -Ethos- is actually
just a front for Solaris. Protective of his sister
Primera.
Maria Balthasar. The daughter of Nikolai Balthasar, Maria was able to
escape from Solaris in the Siebzehn at the cost of
Nikolai's life. She then joined with Shevat and uses
her Siebzehn to protect the city. Since she has no
character development whatsoever, that's all there is
to say about her.
Chu-Chu. Chu-Chu seems to be a big ugly pink stuffed animal that
Margie carries around -- except it's actually a big ugly
pink living creature. Picture a cross between Pikachu
and a Furby, except bright pink. She replaces any "oo"
sounds ("you", "to", etc.) with "chu" when speaking,
and seems to be in love with Fei o_O. When Achtzehn
freezes all the Gears in Shevat, Chu-Chu comes to the
party's rescue by using her "Big big churansformation" and
turning into a giant Gear-sized Chu-Chu. She then joins
the party.
Emeralda Kasim. Fei's "daughter" Emeralda was created in the Zeboim era
by his previous incarnation Kim. She is composed of
tiny nanomachines that allow her to manipulate her body
in strange ways (i.e., turn her hands into hammers to
attack, etc.), and for this reason she was sought by
Krelian. As a child, she talks in annoying Ayla-speak
and refers to Fei as "Fei's Kim". Near the end of the game,
she grows up and starts acting normally.
