By now you have surely given up on me ever turning out any more fanart; but lo and behold I'm back behind the studio table, drawing again, despite a busy job at RPGamer. ^_^
This piece of artwork depicts Bart and Margie from Xenogears. Bart was instantly my favorite character in this game because of his brash, happy-go-lucky ways, cute appearance, and his compassionate, kind, and lonely soul. I was especially moved when, upon rescuing Margie, she unfolded the story of how once Bart had saved her from a certain flogging. That scene stuck in my mind until, weeks later, I finally found time to illustrate it. I have tried to make Margie appear to have just fallen down, as if pushed; Bart, meanwhile, has his arms around her to protect her, taking the lashes with his own body. His glare of defiance and his injuries show ferocity, fear, and concern at the same time.
