Final Fantasy VIII is completely and utterly astounding. We're still busy playing our way through Square's latest, so here's a small sampling of screen shots for the time being. Visuals are fantastic, but there's a far more immersive depth to the game than simple eye candy -- the Junction system, for example, requires careful strategy and planning if you want to have a chance at staying alive.
