It just wouldn't be a Final Fantasy game without Bahamut, and fortunately he's back in action in FF VIII. Other new additions to the Guardian Force lineup include FF mainstay Carbunkle and newcomer Cerberus. Note the special backgrounds in both the Cerberus and Siren spells -- they resemble FF VII's Odin, where the entire scene changed when the spell was cast.
