TGS: Grandia set for PSX release

[03.17.99] » With Grandia slated for display on the Tokyo Game Show floor, a US PlayStation release is not far behind.

Long heralded as one of the greatest RPGs never to see an English translation, Grandia is now one step closer towards an American release. Grandia was originally released for the Sega Saturn over a year ago through Game Arts / ESP. Now, according to videogames.com, ESP will include a PlayStation version of the game in their Tokyo Game Show lineup.

Furthermore, in addition to a previous report, the GIA recently received additional confirmation from an industry source that SCEA will be handling the North American localization of Grandia, though Sony has yet to make an official announcement. A PlayStation port has long been thought to be impossible due to RAM limitations, but recent development optimizations have allowed for data to be handled more efficiently.
