TGS: Seiken Densetsu 4 confirmed
[03.17.99] » Titled "Seiken Densetsu: Legend of Mana," Square's next installment to the series may feature a 2D battle system.

According to videogames.com (and other sources), Square of Japan has given the official word that another installment to the Seiken Densetsu series is indeed in the works. Titled "Seiken Densetsu: Legend of Mana," the game is believed to be the long-anticpated 'mystery sequel' promised several months ago. A demo will be included with SaGa Frontier 2, set for a Japanese release on April 1.
Interest was heighted several days ago when an issue of Famitsu, a popular Japanese video game publication, ran an advertisement promoting a nameless RPG. With a large tree looming in the background, the advertisement asked, "Are you waiting for another dream tale?" The ad also featured artwork of a fierce sword-carrying girl. Early reports suggest Legend of Mana will employ a 2D battle system -- we'll know for certain in the next few days as Square showcases the game at their Tokyo Game Show booth.
