Final Fantasy Collection extravaganza[01.19.99] » Square releases mounds of stunningly beautiful CG screen shots from Final Fantasy VI and more. Square of Japan today released a variety of new screen shots from their upcoming Final Fantasy Collection. Though most of us here at the GIA fight the temptations of pure eye candy daily, these new shots are simply too beautiful to resist. Terra, Celes, Kefka, Edgar, Sabin, the airship, and more are all splendidly rendered. Surprisingly, Final Fantasy IV seems to have additional CG footage in store for the remake, as the one screen shot of Rubicant available below was not visible anywhere in the previously released PSX version. Also included in the Final Fantasy VI section is one screen of typical gameplay to demonstrate how graphics otherwise remain the same, and a shot of the CD artwork for the Final Fantasy VI remake sold independently from the Final Fantasy Collection. Photos of the CD artwork in the collection as well as the commemorative Amano clock are happily awaiting your perusal in an earlier news story. The Final Fantasy Collection is still set for a March 11th release in Japan. No official word yet on a North American release.
