Final Fantasy Collection CD, clock photos

[01.13.99] » Yoshitaka Amano graces the front of each CD in the collection, as well as the limited-edition analog clock.

As mentioned earlier, Square "What-Aren't-We-Doing-Lately?" of Japan is readying a special package known as Final Fantasy Collection for a March 11th release date overseas. The three-CD compilation includes PSX remakes of Final Fantasy IV, V, and VI.

Below are photos of the artwork appearing on the front of the discs, originally drawn by surreal artist Yoshitaka Amano for the games. The fourth picture shows off an analog clock about the size of a jewel case that also includes Amano artwork. The analog clock (created by Citizen) is part of the limited-edition Final Fantasy Collection Anniversary Package, which includes the regular 3 CDs and fancy box packaging. Only 50,000 copies of the Anniversary Package are being manufactured, making it difficult for even devoted fans to obtain. Also keep in mind that a standalone version of Final Fantasy VI will be available with artwork of Kefka covering the CD.

Final Fantasy Collection is expected to retail for 6800 yen, while the Anniversary Package will sell for 8800. That makes about $60 and $77 US respectively, but importers will probably need to pay close to a hundred or more before claiming to be a "real" Final Fantasy fan.
