Altus buys Career Soft

[10.30.01] » Growlanser developer becomes wholly-owned subsidiary of Atlus Japan.

   Atlus announced today that it has acquired Career Soft in a stock purchase valued at about 40 million yen (around $328,000 US). Career Soft was formed several years ago by many of the original developers of the Langrisser series. The company's output so far has been two games in the Growlanser series, both published by Atlus. Considering that Growlanser III has already been announced, and is once again being published by Atlus, the move hardly comes as much of a surprise.

    Career Soft will now operate as fully-owned subsidiary of Atlus Japan. Interestingly, the company announced this as part of general "management reformation plan," so it is possible that other acquisitions may be in the works.
