TGS: Sega announces yet more ports
[10.12.01] » Skies of Arcadia for PlayStation 2 and GameCube;
Hundred Swords for PS2, and PSO for Xbox.
With the Dreamcast all but dead, Sega is looking
to find a good home for its orphaned DC back catalog. Along with the
announcement that Shenmue II is headed
to Xbox, the company also revealed where a few of its RPGs are
headed in the future.
The Dreamcast's finest first party RPG, Skies of
Arcadia, will be ported to both GameCube and PlayStation 2 and Smilebit's
multiplayer realtime strategy game, Hundred Swords, is heading to
PlayStation 2. In addition, Sega announced that PSO is coming to yet
another platform. Xbox will be getting its own version of the online
RPG in the near future, leaving the PS2 as the only major console
(leaving aside the GBA) without a version of the game.
No details have been released as to whether any
of the ports will be upgraded in any way; expect more information
soon.
