Pokémon Crystal release date set

   Nintendo of America today announced a North American release date for Pokémon Crystal. The Game Boy Color's final Pokémon title will ship July 30th at a suggested retail price of $39.95.

   A remake of the Gold and Silver games, Pokémon Crystal features animated Pokémon in battle and the option of playing as a female hero. Nintendo of America made no mention of the online battle mode featured in the Japanese version; this silence is a strong sign that the mode -- and the accompanying Mobile Adapter GB peripheral -- will not make the journey across the Pacific.
