TGS: Smilebit to focus solely on Xbox
[03.31.01] » Sega-owned developer of Jet Set Radio and Hundred Swords to be dedicated to Xbox projects.
As part of the company's bombshell of an announcement at the Tokyo Game Show this morning in Japan, Microsoft has also announced that Sega subsidiary Smilebit Studios will be focusing solely on the Xbox platform. Two of the developer's games, Jet Set Radio Future and Gun Valkyrie, have already been announced for the Xbox.
The official statement said specifically that Smilebit's current games will premiere on Microsoft's system, meaning ports to other consoles are probable. These could occur at a later point or be ported separately by third parties, a method used by Nacmo for Ridge Racer 64 and Capcom for the N64 version of Resident Evil 2, among other companies and games.
