Konami announces "Your Name in MGS2!" Campaign

[03.01.01] » A few lucky gamers will get their necks snapped by Snake himself.

Konami seems determined to do everything in its power to please fans of the much-anticipated sequel Metal Gear Solid 2. Just days after announcing an Internet ranking system for the demo to be included with Zone of the Enders (out today in Japan), the company has revealed its new "Your Name in MGS2!" Campaign.

The campaign's application page, available in both English and Japanese, offers gamers the chance to enter their name, date of birth, blood type, and nationality. All the names gathered will then be reviewed by the development team, who will ultimately select a few for use in the game as enemy soldiers. The names and personal information will appear in game, inscribed on the dogtags worn by the soldiers.

Konami did not reveal exactly how the dogtags would be viewed in the game itself, but it seems possible the Snake will be able to collect them. Regardless, it seems Snake will be facing a much more international group of soldiers than first suspected -- Konami states that all the chosen names and nationalities will appear in every version of MGS2.
