Konami reveals MGS2 demo Internet Ranking Mode

[02.26.01] » Top players can post demo statistics on web.

Konami today announced the Metal Gear Solid 2 demo included with the soon-to-be-released Zone of the Enders will feature an Internet Ranking Mode. Completing the demo will yield a 12-character Clear Code. The code can then be entered at Konami Computer Entertainment Japan's web page to produce an analysis of the player's performance, including statistics on play time, bullets fired, and enemies killed. The top players will be ranked on the site. (Of course, dispatching as few enemies as possible is the preferred way to play the game.)

Konami will begin accepting Clear Codes on March 1st at 6 PM Japan Time (9 AM Greenwich Mean Time, or 4 AM U.S. Eastern Time). The Internet Ranking page is available in both Japanese and English, so players from around the world can compete.

Zone of the Enders is due out March 1 in Japan, with European and North American releases to follow on March 23 and March 27, respectively. All versions of the game will contain the Metal Gear Solid 2 Trial Edition.
