Devil May Cry, Resident Evil Code: Veronica X confirmed for U.S. release

[02.28.01] » Capcom officially adds two new adventure titles to its North American roster.

Capcom today officially announced North American release dates for two PlayStation 2 adventure titles. Resident Evil Code: Veronica X, known as REC:V Complete in Japan, will arrive July 2001, as previously hinted. An upgraded version of Resident Evil Code: Veronica for the Dreamcast, REC:V X will include the same Devil May Cry demo available with the Japanese release due out March 22.

The full edition of Devil May Cry will follow in North America this fall, a few months after its summer debut in Japan. More on Devil May Cry can be found in the GIA's preview.

"Devil May Cry looks simply amazing and it will certainly raise the bar in the world of PlayStation 2 games," said Todd Thorson, Capcom's director of marketing. "Devil May Cry takes full advantage of the technical advancements of the PlayStation 2 by delivering stunning graphics and gameplay that immerses gamers into a dark fantasy world. Devil May Cry is destined to be a blockbuster hit as Capcom fans will see for themselves this spring with the inclusion of the playable demo in copies of Resident Evil Code: Veronica X, also for PlayStation 2. Capcom Executive Producer Shinji Mikami has certainly created another masterpiece."
