Two new Pokémon releases get scheduled

[02.12.01] » Pokémon 3: The Movie to debut April 6, Pokémon Crystal to arrive this fall.

   Nintendo of America today announced North American release dates for two new Pokémon products. The Warner Brothers-distributed Pokémon 3: The Movie will open in theaters across North America on April 6th, while the Game Boy Color sequel Pokémon Crystal, a remake of Pokémon Gold and Silver, will ship this fall.

   "From the video games, to the toys, to the TV series, Pokémon's staying power is evident in its multifaceted appeal to its broad fan base," said Gail Tilden, vice president of Nintendo of America.

   The two new releases will follow the March arrival of Pokémon Stadium 2 for the N64, featuring the cast of Pokémon Gold/Silver/Crystal and a number of new mini-games and play modes.
