Sakura Taisen PS2 not a port
[02.11.01] » Sega plans something new for the PlayStation
2 version of Sakura Taisen.
When Sega announced
their intention to bring the Sakura Taisen series to the PlayStation
2, they made no mention whether
it would arrive as a port, an update, or an entirely original tittle.
Plans for the game haven't entirely solidified, but an interview with
Sega executive, Tetsu Kayama, partially translated by The
MadMan's Cafe, reveals a bit more about what form Sakura Taisen
may take on the PlayStation 2.
The PS2 game will definitely not be Sakura Taisen
4, nor will it be a simple port of any of the Dreamcast Sakura Taisen
games. Possibilities for the new game include a side-story to the
upcoming Sakura Wars 3, or a "director's cut" of Sakura
Taisen 1 & 2, which would feature additional chapters edited out
of the earlier versions of those games.
