Final Fantasy IX Art Book coming to the US?
[11.21.00] » Longtime Amano fans may finally get their wish.
Online retailer EBWorld has added a cryptic listing
for a "Final Fantasy IX Art Book." No details as to the
content are currently known. However, if it's anything like its Japanese
counterpart, it should contain a huge variety of production art, as
well as concept sketches from Yoshitaka Amano himself.
Though the book's release has yet to be confirmed,
it's certainly in keeping with earlier reports
that Square would be supporting Final Fantasy IX with a full-fledged
merchandising blitz, including everything from lunch boxes to the
game's soundtrack. This would mark
the first time that an art book for a video game has seen a wide release
in America. The book, published by Brady Games and retailing for $19.99,
should be available December 9th.
