Release date mania!

As gaming season approaches (known to some as "the Holidays"), many titles are receiving more concrete scheduled release dates. GameStop and EBWorld have updated to reflect this new information. The release dates of interest to GIA readers are listed below in roughly chronological order.

  • Bust-a-Groove 2, formerly set to be released "sometime in 3rd quarter," now has a release date set for August 22nd.
  • Dragon Warrior I&II will hit shelves September 14th.
  • Dino Crisis 2, a more action-oriented take on survival horror, will be released September 30th.
  • Harvest Moon: Back To Nature, previously forecast for August, will be available October 10th, fittingly in time for harvest season.
  • Megaman Legends 2 has been given a release date of October 16th.
  • Dragon Valor receives another postponement, now set to be released on October 18th.
  • Samba de Amigo, Sega's maraca-shaking masterpiece, receives another postponement. The title is now due to be released on October 18th.
  • Breath of Fire IV is now on for October 31st; the previous estimate was "September".
  • Kessen is set to be relased on November 7th.
  • Final Fantasy IX won't make it in time for an October release after all, instead finding its way to retailers on November 14th.
  • Onimusha is poised to be a near-launch PS2 title should it meet its release date of November 15th.
  • Eternal Ring and Evergrace from Agetec are both set for November 15th.
  • Harvest Moon 2 for the GameBoy Color is slated for a November 17th release.
  • Skies of Arcadia, the first of the Dreamcast's two major holiday RPGs, is now on for November 22nd.
  • Torneko: The Last Hope now has an estimated release date of November; before it was only "3rd quarter."
  • Grandia II is set for December 8th; before, gamers had no more information than "2000."

And our very special European readers can expect Parasite Eve II on August 25th--a full month before the U.S. release.
