Atlus announces Persona 2: Punishment for Japanese release

   Atlus recently announced Persona 2: Punishment for the Sony PlayStation, to be released this summer in Japan. Persona 2: Innocent Sin was released June of last year in Japan, but not at all in the United States. It is believed that Persona 2: Punishment will mark the conclusion to the Persona series, a Megami Tensei spinoff.

   Despite strong fan support and interest from Atlus of America, the first Persona 2 still hasn't made it to English-speaking shores. But as recently as two months ago, Atlus of America confirmed that Persona 2 was still under "consideration" for a U.S. release. The announcement of this new title should renew gamers' faith that the series will see U.S. shores once more.
