You will hate this chapter. Believe me. It consists
entirely of a two-hour-long dungeon with the same enemies
over and over again and monotonous scenery as well. But
enough ranting; I'll leave you to hate it on your own ^_^.
Enemy-wise, this place is the same as before (which is
part of the reason why it's so boring) -- the only new
addition are the easy-to-beat Neo Wels.
Leave the elevator room and head southeast until you
reach a colorful room with a second tier above you. Take
the northeast door (it's the only one you can get through
right now) and proceed to the first side path. Head down
that one and go in the room to get an Aquasol DX (in the
back). You can also examine the blue panel of light to
turn it off, but I don't know what this does... it wouldn't
hurt to do it, though. Then go back into the main hall
and continue to the second side hall. Go into the door
in that to grab a SurvivalTent from the chest in the corner
(there's also a save point), then continue to the end
of the main hall. Take the door to the southeast and
you'll be in a dark room. Just push your way down the
stairs until you get to the control panel. Activate it
to turn on the lights and reveal Solaris's Omnigear. After
a bit of dialogue, you will be free to continue on to the
other end of the room and the door there.
In the next segment, the music stops, and you get a bunch
of weird sounds instead. Continue southeast and go through
the door into a room with a bunch of cages. Each of these
can be opened by the control panel to its right, which will
allow you to get the chest inside, but also force you to
fight the monster inside. The two side ones just contain
garbage, but the middle one has a handy Muscle Belt; go ahead
and get that one -- but be warned, you'll have to fight an
Orphan to get it. The elevator can't be used (yet), so just
keep going southwest to the next cage room. This time, the
cage you want to open is the one on the right, which
contains the Angelic Robe (and a Dorothy to fight). It's
strong armor and also boosts your ether defense and evade
rate; equip it on Elly.
Leave the cage rooms via the exit in the southwest and
the music will return to normal. Head northwest along the
corridor, and take the first side path you come to. Go
through the black "door" and enter the first real door you
come to. Grab the Extra Ar+6 from the chest and exit (the
chest in the adjacent room just contains a measly Eyeball).
Continue down the main hall to the next black door and go
through that. Enter the first room, get the Gold Nugget,
and exit (you can visit the room further southwest for a
Hob-Meat, but why bother?). Continue down the main hall
and follow its turn to the northeast. You'll see yet
another door, this one on the southeast wall. Go through
it, grab the Aquasol DX off the table, and search the
computer at the back of the room to turn off some locks.
Now go back out of that room and continue northeast to
another door. Go through and you'll be back in the first
room -- except now the upper door has opened.
Ascend the circular stairs and go southeast past where
the door was. Open the two chests for another Aquasol DX
and a Survival Tent, then keep going southeast to the next
screen. Here, the two side wings lead to elevators, which
will take you back down to the cage rooms. Why you'd want
to go back there is beyond me since there's nothing new,
so don't bother with them and keep going straight, past
the side exit, to a save point. Save, then go back to
the side hall and go through the door. There's another
cage here, which is absolutely loaded with monsters.
The chests inside contain the DeathBlower3 and an Ether
Veiler, so they're worth getting. Open up the cage and
try to lure out as many monsters as you can (you can jump
over them to dodge them). Then run in, grab the chests,
and run out as fast as you can. All of the enemies but
one are Wels, and the one other is the Bloodly Bros -- two
clones of Bloodly (from the Wels ship in Aquvy). While
their physical attacks are nothing to worry about (they
shouldn't even be able to damage you), they both will use
Murder frequently. Revive your characters as fast as you
can and concentrate taking out one Bloodly before the other.
If you can't manage to get out with the goods, or don't
want to bother fighting all those guys (I don't blame you),
you don't have to... that's why you saved it.
Back at the save point, use a SurvivalTent and continue
southeast into a tube running through space. Does this mean
you're getting near the end of the lab? Nope, you're only
halfway done. Arrrgh! Keep going south through a series
of passages and eventually you'll find a fork in the road.
Go southwest and continue until you get to a doorway. Go
through and get the Dark Helm from the chest in the corner.
Now, if you examine the big black boxes, they will play a
series of sounds... remember them. Equip the Dark Helm
on somebody (probably Fei since he's always in your party),
then continue in the hallway to the next door. This room
holds the Dark Armor. It's not as strong as a Crimson
Vest, but it boosts your Ether Defense. Give it somebody,
then continue down the hallway to the last room, which has
some measly B&JM686S Ammo in it. Now go all the back to the
fork after the space hallway, and this tme go northeast.
You'll reach a door that's sealed with the aforementioned
audio lock. You can figure it out on your own if you want,
but if you don't, the answer is up, down, up, left, right.
Beyond the audio lock door, you can either go southeast
or southwest; go southwest. The next three doors you come
to all lead to stairs. They're all the same, but each has
a different chest along the way: the north one has a
SurvivalTent, the middle one Extra Ar+6, and the south one
Silver Ar+1. I recommend getting the Extra Ar+6, though
you could get one chest, go back down the stairs, and go
up another one to get all the items if you want (but at
this point, you're probably just desperate to get out of
here ^_^).
In any case, the stairs all lead to the same place,
which is the final floor (whew!). First, go northwest
and get the Extra Ar DX from the chest, then head southeast
down the hall. Take the first side door you come to (not
counting the three leading to the stairs) into a room with
a computer. Ignore the computer (it doesn't do anything)
and walk down on the green beam off to the sides. At the
bottom of the area, you'll find a chest with the Sonic
Wave whip for Bart. Grab it, then go back to the hall and
continue to the next side room. It's an identical room,
except it contains another Extra Ar+6. The third side
door also leads to a computer room, this time with a Gold
Nugget.
You'll then to come to a turn in the hallway that
sends you southwest. Pop in the first door you come to
and you'll find a collection of holograms of your characters.
Just ignore them and get the Speed Ring S from the chest
in the back. Leave the room and continue southwest to a
door in the middle of the hall. Go through and the game
(or, rather, Elly ^_^) will take over.
The lights will suddenly go out, and Elly and Citan
disappear. Just continue southwest down the hall and keep
pushing against the southern wall until you find a door.
Go through and into the SOL-9000 data bank, where a lot of
plot exposition will occur.
