ITEMS TO GET: Crimson Vest, Aquasol DX, Feathered Cap, Psycho Rod

   As soon as you land in here, press Start to pause. Basically, what you're going to be doing in here is running west while being chased by Security Cubes. If they catch up to you, you'll have to fight them, and then another one will appear to continue the chase. Fortunately, the fights are pretty easy -- the Cubes will either raise their ether defense and lower their defense, or raise their defense and lower their ether defense. If they do the former, just use any Deathblow to kill them, but if they do the latter, use Elly's Ethers. Don't forget, you can pause at any time to check the directions here.

   When you're ready to go, unpause the game and start running west. Cross the flat panel serving as bridge and continue west. Cross on the next panel and run until you get to the ladder. Hop over the blockade in front of it, then climb up the ladder and keep running. There will be two blockades you have to jump over, and then you'll come to a gap. You can either drop down, run across the pit, and climb up the ladder at the other side, or run across the narrow red pipe directly to the other side. Go ahead and run across the pipe, but don't take too long -- if you fall off, you fall off; you don't lose that much time.

   On the other side of the gap, keep running west and stick to the bottom to dodge the barrier. Once you pass it, run up to the top to dodge the next barrier, then back south to end up on the south side of the river of sewage. You'll see another flat panel bridge; you can cross it, run back to the right, get a Crimson Vest from the chest, and then go back across the panel, but it will guarantee you a fight. Since the fights are easy, and a Crimson Vest is handy to have, go for it. Then continue west, hop over the barricade, and scramble up the ladder.

   Stick to the south side again until you get to the flat panel bridge. Cross this one, then either go east for an Aquasol DX (again, you'll be forced into a fight) or just go straight west. Jump up onto the higher platform and you'll reach another red pipe. This time, there's no ladder on the other side, so you have to walk across the pipe. If you turn the camera so that west is at the top of the screen, you shouldn't have too much trouble. On the other side of the gap, move to the middle of the sewer to cross the next flat panel bridge. Move to the top and double back east for a Feathered Cap, then run west again. Jump over the barricade, climb up the ladder, and jump down onto the south side of the sewer. Now just run straight west until you hit the ladder. Hurry up it and you'll emerge at Elly's house.

   Isn't the music here great? Um, anyway, go up to the front door and enter. You'll meet Elly's mother Medena, and there will be a few "scenes" (I hate that word, but what else am I going to call them?).

   In Elly's room, save your game, and go out to the hall. Go through the door in the east corner and talk to the maid. She'll give you the Psycho Rod, the best weapon for Elly in the game. Be sure to equip it right away. Then go into the southwest-most room and talk to Medena. She will leave the house, allowing you go into Elly's parents' room, the one in the northeast corner. Examine the computer and Elly will use it to find out how to get into the palace... only to be caught by her father Erich.
