Black Snake
After all is said and done and you regain
control, head back to the Thames. Don't worry about
healing up; by the time you get there, things have
settled down. Just talk to the Captain and Hans
to find out where the "giant fishbowl" went, then
go back to the Yggdrasil.
Go talk to Margie to create a new party; you'll
need to include Citan, but the other two characters
you can choose. You'll definitely want Billy for his
healing abilities, and I recommend taking Bart as your
other character. Then go buy some Fire Rings from
Maison and equip them on all three of your characters.
Don't worry about your Gears; you don't need them
at all.
Head towards the new dot on your map, between
the Thames and the Ethos HQ. When you arrive at the
island with the small gray building, get off the
Yggdrasil and enter. Hop on the cool-looking elevator
and ride it down into the Solaris dig site.
As soon as you enter the next room, you'll fight
four Gebler Guards, the main type of enemy in this area.
They mostly toss grenades at you, which your Fire Rings
should protect you against. They'll also occasionally
hit you with a blaster attack. Since they're pretty
easy, you might want to try to learn some new Deathblows.
After defeating the guards, get in the elevator
to the north and ride down. When you emerge, take the
east exit and cross the long bridge. You'll next come
to some stairs, ascend them and go through the door at
the top. Proceed north to a save point. You can use it
if you want, though it's not really necessary. Just
continue east and you'll be in a I-shaped hallway with
lots of doors. Most of them cannot be opened, so don't
even bother with them. The only one you can open is the
southeast door (guarded by four more Gebler Guards, of
course), which leads to -- gasp! -- another elevator.
Once this elevator stops, go north until you reach
an intersection. Take a west turn for some ammo in a
chest, then go east and keep going straight (you'll
fight several groups of guards on the way) until you get
to a room with a chest in it. Open it for a Sleep
Guard, then leave the room and head back east. Take
the first door to the south (once again, it's the only
one that can be opened) into another stairwell. Descend
the stairs and exit north.
The east fork is a dead end, so go west, instead, to
a door in a slight alcove. Head through that door and
the room that follows. Continue straight along the path;
you'll fight two sets of Gebler Guards and another battle
with two Carriers. At the end of the hallway is another
room with a save point and a chest with Panalphasol. Grab
the chest, then go back outside and go through the first
door to the north. More stairs here; go down them and
try to go through the door at the bottom. You'll be
denied access, so go back up to the hallway and head
west. When the hall starts to curve, enter the door to
your north (I don't you could get in here before) and
you'll be in a computer room. Examine the computers to
turn off the lock on the door, and get the Black Snake
whip for Bart from the chest. If you're using him, equip
it right now. You might want to go back to the room
where you got the Panalphasol (at the east end of the
hallway) to save. Otherwise, just head back down the
stairs and through the now-unlocked door.
