...the champion's room, which is now his. He
also now has free roam of the city, as the collars
have been removed. In the small room adjoining the
main room, you'll find a save point, as well as a
bed with which to rest.
Leave D Block and go to the Kislev map. The
two red pyramids will take you out on the world
map, though there's nothing to do out there (unless
you want a breath of fresh air ^_^). The three
green pyramids all lead to A Block, the civilian
block, but there's nothing really important there
(there's a few stores, but they all sell the same
stuff that Hammer was selling). The yellowish pyramid
leads to the administritative district, which is
where you want to go.
Talk to the guards outside and they'll escort
you inside. Take a right turn and go in the eastern
of the two doors leading north. Descend the stairs
to another hallway, and take the west exit into
the crane room, which holds a nifty little (optional)
mini-game of sorts. Before you start, though, jump
up onto the red barrels, then onto the brown crates
near tem. From there, you can just barely jump to
the platform with the chest on it, which holds
Insulated Ar. It's good Gear armor, though you can't
equip it right now as you don't have a Gear. Now
examine the control panel in the upper left to
activate the crane. You have to guide the crane
left and right to the other end of the room, so you
can use it as a stepping stone. The important thing
to note is that the crane will keep moving in one
direction until you move it in another. Move it
to the right of the crates, and when it's about
halfway past the crates, swing it back left. If
you time it right, you'll be able to barely get by
the pile of metal (if you goof up, just leave the
room and come back in). Then swing it to the right
around the shelves and crate, then left around
the forklift. Crash the crane into the either of
yellow boxes, then go over to it and hit X on it.
Fei will make a comment, then you can jump on it,
and from there jump onto the yellow boxes. Drop
down into the corner and pick up the Power Magic,
another Gear item.
You're done here, so return to the main hall
and go through the big double doors into the
elevators. Ride the elevator up, then go west
once you emerge into the Kaiser's room. While
Fei is chatting with the Kaiser, Rico will drop
down and run off. There will be a bunch of
scenes, after which you end up in the queen's
room with Rico (briefly) in your party. Search
the mirror at the back of the room for the
Memento Locket, an accessory that only Rico
can equip (it's not very good, though). Leave
the room and the Kaiser will show up with his
guards to arrest Rico (which Rico seems to take
pretty well ^_^). Afterwards, go back up to the
Kaiser's room. He's not here anymore, leaving
you free to open up that nice shiny chest by
the organ for some Knight Mail.
When you leave the administrative district,
Citan will remark that Hammer has now had enough
time to gather his information (Go Go Gadget
Plot Contrivance!). You're automatically taken
to A Block, where Hammer tells you that Weltall
is being stored in an underground gear dock
accessible by supply train. Buy any items you
need, then look around for Big Joe. He'll charge
you 5000 G to see his special secret, which
turns out to be an empty alley. Go ahead and
pay him, though; you'll be able to get an item
later if you do.
Now return to D Block. You'll be greeted
by some of Rico's underlings, who explain the
situation to you. Save your game, then use the
bed to rest.
At night, leave the bar and climb up on
the roof (via the ladder outside the dorm).
Climb up the red ladder to your south onto the
control tower and talk to the amazoness. As
soon as the dialogue concludes, run to the east
side of the tower. When the train appears,
quickly jump off the tower (you don't have to
land exactly on the train as long as you end
up over it). You'll ride the train into the
tunnel, only to have it start to fall apart.
Quickly run and jump to the front car. You'll
then automatically ride the rest of the way
to the Gear facility.
After you land, save if you want. You
can either take the south exit into an office
and search the place for a Minigear (getting
it will trigger a battle against some
Swordsmen, which is worth doing just for the
guard's quote ^_^), or just hop up the boxes
and exit through the pipe.
The ever-annoying Batrats are back, and
are joined by Mechanics and Swordsmen. Both
of these use mostly physical attacks that
take off 50-100 HP, but the Swordsmen have
less HP. Also, the Swordsmen will occasionally
drop Evasion Rings, which boost your evade
rate and are definitely worth equipping.
Go south past the stairs, and continue
south and east to a door. Go through into
a tall vertical room. Hop down to the bottom
and push the solitary crate to the west a
little. Use it to jump up onto the western
pile of crates, and climb up the exit. Go
west as far can, then head south. Turn east
and continue to the next room. After the
soldiers leave, search the bookcase in the
back for the Master Key and a Frame HP 30.
The latter is a very useful Gear accessory that
allows you to regenerate HP in battle by
activating it from the Special Option menu.
Continue east from the office and keep
going until you get to a locked door. Examine
the control panel next to it to open it with
the Master Key and go through. In the next
hallway, exit through the northwest door and
you'll be back in the room where you got (or
didn't get) the Minigear. Go north back to
the start room, then open the east door with
the Master Key. Head north and descend the
stairs. Collect the SurvivalTent from the
narrow alley to the south of the stairs, then
go west until you reach the Gear hangar.
Descend the nearby stairs (good luck seeing
your characters) and head around to the north
side of the central divider, and face the
divider. Push the button next to the easternmost
compartment (the ones with Gears in them) until
you see Weltall. Get close to it and hit R2 and
L2 to get in. Now go talk to the white repair
bot and you can buy parts from it. Buy the
WELT-05100 frame, and also pick up a Hot RodG
for the Vierge (which you'll be getting shortly).
If you didn't upgrade your engine and armor
earlier, do so as well. Then equip the Frame HP
30, Insulated Ar, and Beam Coat on the Weltall.
Hop in one of the elevators and you'll be taken up
to the arena.
