Later in the game, your Gears will be able to advance to an Attack Level even higher than Level 3: Infinity Level! Infinity Level can only be used by each character's second (or better) Gear. Since Elly, Maria, and Emeralda don't have any Omnigears, though, they can use Infinity Level with their initial attacks. Chu-Chu has no Attack Level ever, and consequently no Infinite Level.

   To get to Infinity Level, you must be first be at Attack Level 3. Then, at the end of every turn, you have a chance of going to Infinity Level, which is displayed as "Hyper Mode" in the stat box on the right side of the screen. This chance increases based on:

• How much HP you have lost
• The number of times you've attacked
• The number of times you've been attacked
• Which Gear you're piloting

   While in Infinity Level, you can attack with any of three different single-button Deathblows. The strongest one is of course the X one, but to use it, you must be at least Level 70. The other two Infinity Level attacks are learnt simply by getting more character Deathblows. After three rounds in Infinity Level, you'll drop back down to Attack Level 0.

   Also, Xenogears is always at 99% Hyper Mode, which basically means you'll always be able to get to Infinity Level after 4 rounds, and then it's Kishin time ^_^.
