The strong fighter who's slow and bad at magic... every
game's gotta have one, and Rico is Xenogears's. He's
one of the better characters in the game, though, as
his attack is extremely strong -- he can do more
damage with a regular attack than most characters can
with a Deathblow. The only things that keeps him from
being stronger than Citan are his somewhat weaker
defense (but not bad by any means), and his complete
and total lack of speed. Give him a Speed Ring or
Speed Ring S at all times or he'll never see any action.
One slight disadvantage to Rico is that he seems to learn
Deathblows slower than other people, but that doesn't
really matter when even the weak ones do so much damage.
Equip him with a Power Crisis and he becomes even more
powerful. Yeah, his Ethers suck, but who cares? He's a
great fighter, and magic is inconsequential in Xenogears
anyway.
