ITEMS TO GET: Elegy of Emptiness

You don't have to go back through the well everytime you want to enter the castle -- now that you have the Mirror Shield, you can enter the castle through the small hole on the east side of Ikana Valley. Just enter to the left of the large gates, hit the switch and blaze through the sun block.

Enter the castle through the main gate. To stop the ReDeads from attacking you, put on either the Gibdo Mask, Garo's Mask, or Captain's Hat. Blast the frozen eye plaques with Fire Arrows to open the doors and go north. Hit the crystal switch in this room to raise the ceiling, then quickly run to the far end of the room. Wait for the ceiling to drop again, then hit the switch again. Quickly switch to Deku Link, jump on the nearest flower, and fly up to the door switch. Trigger it and go east.

Still as Deku Link, fly to the upper-left corner and hit the switch. Switch back to Human Link and put on the Mask of Truth to reveal an invisible ledge. Hop across it, then follow the sequence of platforms to the door. Go through, dodge or kill the Bubbles, and climb up the stairs to the roof.

Hop up onto the block on the northwest corner of the roof, and from there onto the ramparts. Inch over to ledge with the Deku Flower and drop down onto it. Fly over to the switch and press it, then jump down to the ground.

You'll need a Powder Keg to continue; purchase one from the Bomb Shop in Clock Town if you don't happen to be carrying one. Enter the castle again, but this time go south instead of north. Shine light into the Floormaster to kil it, then blaze through the sun block. Put on a mask again to get past the ReDeads and go through the door. There's another Wizrobe -- like the ones you fought in Snowhead -- followed by some more ReDeads.

The passage leads up to a new section of the roof. Ignore the small hole; it leads back down into the hall you just came through. Switch to Goron Link and drop the Powder Keg onto the huge mess of cracks to the north. Revert to Human Link, put on one of your ReDead defense masks, and jump down to the main room. Sunlight is shining now; reflect it onto the sun block at the end of the room and go through.

It's mini-boss time! After the battle begins, use Fire Arrows to destroy the curtains, then z-target the skeletons and fight them as you would any other melee enemy. When you do enough damage to them, they'll crumple to the ground, so quickly shine light onto them to destroy them. Shining light onto them at any other time has no effect. When both lackeys are defeated, the king himself attacks. He can launch at his head at you; just run from him when his head his flying since you can't hurt him during this time. Attack him when his head on his body, doing your best to get behind him. He lasts longer than his minions but dies the same way: when he falls, shine light onto his body and claim your musical reward.
