Prologue 72 Hours More walkthrough

ITEMS TO GET: Ocarina of Time, Deku Mask, Adult Wallet

You walk into Clock Town with 72 hours to stop the moon from destroying everything, and a majority of people will probably fail to do so on their first try. Tatl, your fairy companion, recommends you first seek out the Great Fairy for advice. Her shrine is located in the westernmost wall in North Clock Town, enter to find the Great Fairy shattered into dozens of small fairies. You must now retrieve the one missing fairy.

During the day, the fairy is at the laundry pool in southwest Clock Town, while at night, she'll be flying around by the Deku Flower in East Clock Town. Simply touch her and return to the Great Fairy's shrine. Once the fairy is complete again, you will be granted magic power and directed towards the town observatory. Before progresing, you should first find Tingle, a strange man also in North Clock Town wearing an elf costume and selling maps. Shell out 5 rupees for a Clock Town map.

Since only the Bombers know of the secret path there, take your newly acquired magic power and pop the large purple balloon in North Clock Town. Talk to the Jim, the lead Bomber (who was trying to pop the balloon already) and he'll challenge you to a game of hide-and-seek. You'll have to find Jim and his 4 fellow Bombers by daybreak, which is extremely unlikely if it's still nighttime after your fairy visit. If you fail, you can try again and use the entire next day to find them.

Be sure to notice the map position in each screen: Bombers #1 and #5 are located in North Clock Town, hiding behind a tree and in the corner behind the slide. Bombers #3 and #4 are in East Clock Town -- #4 is perched on the corner of a building, so you'll have to sneak up behind him and chase him as he floats off the edge. #3 is on the thatched roof by the Stock Pot Inn, so use the nearby Deku Flower to jump after him and give chase. Thankfully, #2 is standing out in the open in West Clock Town.

The Bombers will then give you the pass code to their secret path leading to the observatory. Go underground and skip across the water as Deku Link, popping the balloon that blocks your path and making your way up the ladder and up the stairs. Take the opportunity to learn about the Inverted Song of Time and the Song of Double Time from the scarecrow, then head up the stairs and talk to the astronomer. Look through his telescope and zoom in on Skull Kid, who is standing atop the clock tower. The camera will shift to the moon and a rock will fall from its eye that lands right outside the observatory. Go out the door across the room from the telescope and pick up the Moon's Tear.

Head back to South Clock Town and trade the Moon's Tear for a Land Title and usage of the Deku Flower by the door to West Clock Town. Waste any remaining time between now and midnight of the third day, and be sure to deposit your money in the bank in West Clock Town -- when you deposit over 200 rupees, you'll be rewarded with the Adult Wallet. Wait for the fireworks at midnight, then use the Deku Flower to fly to the now-opened clock tower door. Confront Skull Kid, hit him with a bubble so he'll drop the Ocarina, and then play the Song of Time to warp back from the impending disaster.
