Prerequisites: Gilbert: School Amour, A Siren's Song
Begin the "Niccolo Calls It Quits?" quest, then check out Kristie's
basement -- you'll find the petrified Gilbert stored away there.
Examine the statue and you'll hear his thoughts about Monique. Talk
to Sotherbee and listen to his new sales pitch for the statue.
Now go to the Digger's Hideout and examine the book of poetry
sitting on the right-hand side of the room. Roger will rush in and
throw you out for reading his poetry. Meanwhile, the mine starts
to shake, so Roger tells his Dudbears to find something to prop
up the roof. Go back to Geo and talk to Sotherbee again, then
go to the mines. Instead of ringing the Dudbear Express bell,
proceed into the mines normally. After descending the first set
of stairs, go through the door to the north in the next room to
reach an Abandoned Room. The Gilbert statue is here. Examine it.
Now go to the birdcage and recruit Elle. Take her to see Monique
in Lumina. Monique and Elle both leave for the beach. Return to
the birdcage, where Monique, Elle, and Flameshe are all talking.
Flameshe will recite a spell for Monique; you can either write it
or down or just cheat with the answers below.
Go back to the room in the mines with the petrified Gilbert. Monique
is already here; talk to her to begin the spells. The correct
lines are as follows:
- "Earth with life"
- "The ancient memories"
- "Of Mother Earth fill"
- "The truth that"
- "Of energy for all" (no, not "Of B-day cake!")
Gilbert is at last de-petrified, and the quest ends.
Li'l Cactus' quote: "Little lamp."
Cactus Diary:
"Gilbert got to travel to a lot of places because he was a stone statue and was sold to those many places. Hey, I think he saved a lot on travel expenses."
