Prerequisites: The Quiet Sea, The Treasure Map, AF Frozen Heart
The third S.S. Buccaneer is -- as always -- triggered by sailing
onto the right "square" with Ramtieger. This one isn't activated
until you complete the first two quests, however. Once you have,
sail west twice, south twice, and then east once. Cap'n Tusk will
call for you and ask you to accompany the PPs on their mission
into the Fieg Snowfields. Of course, the Penguins end up retreating
due to the cold, leaving you alone to uncover the faeries' treasure.
Follow the path to the Field of Innocence. You'll find a lone
faerie -- Fiorentina -- here; talk to her and she'll boost your
faerie eye level from 1 to 2. Head southwest one screen and talk
to Malbaresta here; she'll raise your eye level to 3. Continue
southeast until you get to the next group of faeries. Look for
Lucini; she'll boost you from 3 to 5. Now go back to the place
where you found Malbaresta. You'll be able to see more faeries
now. Talk to Tilda to get your eye level raised to 6. She then
tells you to go see Lakshmi.
Exit to the west and go west another screen. Three more faeries
are here. The one who refuses to divulge her name is Lakshmi;
have her cast her spell and you'll get the highest eye level: 7.
You now have to find Ehrlang and talk to her; if you talk to any
other faeries, you'll be dropped back down to 6. (Go back and
talk to Lakshmi if this happens.)
To find Ehrlang, go east and cross through the next screen to the
Fields of Innocence. Exit through the southeast passage and
proceed until you find another set of three faeries. The middle
one is Ehrlang, but before you talk to her, make sure you've got
an empty spot in your equipment inventory (you can only carry 100
pieces of equipment). When you talk to Ehrlang, she'll congratulate
you and give you the Draupnir ring, which helps you get items
from enemies. The quest ends.
Li'l Cactus' quote: "Little white Faerie."
Cactus Diary:
"Faeries can be and can't be seen by people. I guess seeing a Faerie is just like dreaming. Wait, do I actually see a dream? Or is it something that really happens?"
