ITEMS TO GET: Healing Leaf, Speed Ring, Healing Bloom, Speed Elixir, Forest Amulet, Fire Book II

Jeremi is infested with the Mist, which means it's not much of a town right now. You can explore the buildings and loot them, but since the items are nothing special, it's easier to do so after you've cleared the Mist. For now, just head due north and enter the building you reach. Go through the door in the back of that into the tower.

This place seems like a huge maze, but it's not actually that bad. The enemies in here include more Spikefish and Level 2 Nightos, plus the new Guardians, souped-up versions of the Drake Ghosts. The Guardians are definitely the worst of the bunch, as they have a high HP, dodge easily, and can hit you with powerful special attacks (Windhash and V-Windhash). Occasionally, you'll also run into Swordies, the only new type of Seru here. They're the first wind Seru available, so try to catch some. Swordies also level up quickly (almost one level per use), so build them up; they'll become powerful quickly.

The central "express" elevator is out of order, so you'll have to take the long route. Grab the Healing Leaf from the chest, then hop in the elevator in the upper left. It will take you up to the second floor. Just head south here and ride up to the third floor.

The third floor has two elevators. First, take the northern elevator to reach a chest with the Speed Ring (give it to Gala), then go back up and take the southern elevator up to the fourth floor, which features four elevators. Take the northeast down to the basement, grab the Healing Bloom, then come back up. Descend via the northwest elevator and examine the big, ugly, brown switch. This will reactivate the express elevator. Go back up to the fourth floor and take the elevator in the lower-left up.

You're now on the top floor of the tower, which leads out into the Sky Gardens. Before you go there, though, you'll need to make one detour. Hop in the express elevator in the center and descend back to the entrance. Fight your way out of Jeremi, and go back to the Ancient Water Cave to get healed.

Set off to the north, past Jeremi, and keep going past Vidna. Along the way, try to use your Swordies and Veras as much as you can to boost their levels. Your destination is the big black castle-like building east of Vidna, which is O (hit L1 to look at the map). Once you arrive, there will be some dialogue. Choose to stick around and explore and you'll wind up in the middle of the city, which happens to be filled with lots of tough enemies. Among the enemies is the Orb, a Light Seru. Capture as many as you can; the Orb's attack is a group healing spell. Vahn will definitely need one, and probably Gala as well. Once you're done, exit south (the path leading outside is in the center).

Return to Jeremi, re-enter the tower, and use the express elevator to go up to the top floor. Exit south into the Sky Gardens and save your game at the ever-handy Memory Statue. Pass under the gate into the hedge maze. Search around for a Speed Elixir and Forest Amulet, then go up to the center platform to fight the Berserker.

This is a boss, so it's obviously going to be a tough battle. Start off by using Swordie and another levelled-up attack spells you have; not only do they damage him, they'll also lower his stats. Then start hitting him with your Spirit-charged combos; recommended ones include RRLRRL for Vahn, LLRRRU for Noa, and RRLUU for Gala. As with the last battle, Noa will die pretty quickly, but just focus on keeping Vahn and Gala healed. The Berserker's attacks include a standard combo (450-550 damage), Poisonous Gas (100-200 damage, causes poison), and the deadly Spore Gas (600-700 damage, causes rot). Once you've done about 3500 HP damage to it, it will also start casting Stone Circle, a spell that deals around 400 damage to all your characters. Normally, this would be a problem, but all you have to do is summon Orb to heal the team. Just keep your attacks up, and once you've done another 1500 damage to it, the Berserker will kick the bucket.

After the battle, the Genesis Tree will awaken, causing all your Seru to level up, and you'll receive the Fire Book II, which can teach Vahn the Fire Blow Hyper Arts. Some people from Jeremi will greet you; go back into the tower take the elevator down to the bottom floor, where the mayor awaits.
