Chapter 44 Alexander More walkthrough

ITEMS TO GET: None

   After some impressive CG, you'll see Garnet addressing the Pluto Knights. There's three pairs of knights; you'll have to assign each pair to a different area. Depending on what you do, you'll end up receiving different items. Garnet then falls down, and you take control of Steiner and Beatrix in the city. Steiner's equipment is horribly outdated, so equip him with some current gear; you can also throw some better armor on Beatrix if you want.

   Run into the monster near you to trigger a fight; it's very easy. (These are the same Kujya-controlled monsters you fought back at Iifa on Disc 2.) Continue south to the next screen; when you try to leave it, another monster will jump down and attack. Kill it, then proceed to the bar exterior, where two monsters confront you. Defeat them, then go one more screen south. Here, you'll fight three monsters one at a time, followed by a final fight against two more monsters.

   After you've finished off all the monsters, you regain control of Garnet. Equip her (her new rod will finally give her Curaga), then head up. (If you try to go in any other direction, Garnet will be repelled by magic.) Continue on to the passage you took to get to the Queen's room on Disc 2. This time, the two side doors can be opened. The one on the right leads to Garnet's room (which serves no purpose), while the one on the left leads to a tower. Climb up the tower; the statues will "spark" behind Garnet as you run. When you reach the castle roof, a huge staircase will rise. Climb up it; when you reach the top, there's another CG sequence.

Pattycake, pattycake...

   You now take control of Zidane, VIVI, Salamander, and Freija. First, head to the training room on the east side of the palace to save your game. You can now head to the library and fight Dantarian if you want; again, it's optional (and quite difficult). This is your last chance to take Dantarian on, however.

   When you're ready to go on, head up the same tower that Garnet went up. The rest of the party turns back at the roof, leaving Zidane alone. Continue up the stairs until the next CG sequence starts. A eyeball adorned ship appears in the sky, reverses Alexander's power, and demolishes Alexandria.
