ITEMS TO GET: Ether (x2), Elixir, Remedy, Phoenix Pinion, Silk Robe, Survival Vest, ? Brace

Catch a Chocobo from the tracks outside the waterway, then head for Qu's Marsh. You'll find Quina hanging out right where you met him the first time; just talk to him and he'll rejoin, bringing your party back to four members. If you leave the screen and return, you can play the frog-catching game some more. By now, you should be able to get your total up to 9 frogs, enough to earn Quina a Silk Robe. Also, if you return to Gizamaluke's Grotto and visit the Moogle couple, you'll see they have a baby now. One of the adult Moogles gives you an Elixir.

With Quina in the party, head to the far right-hand side of Qu's Marsh. The music stops. Continue towards the center of the screen. Quina makes a comment, then the screen fades out briefly. When you are moving again, head right through a new passage to reach the entrance to some ruins. Enter and go down the stairs until you end up in Fossil Roo.

Try to go right. When you do, a huge chariot-like monster burst out of the wall and starts chased you. Run southeast, dodging the swinging pendulums. (If they hit you, you'll just be temporarily stunned.) Once you get by the first pendulum on a screen, if you keep running at top speed, you'll get by the second and third without having to stop. On the third screen, Zidane jumps across a gap, and the monster falls in. Exit to the southeast.

Lonnie
*insert humorous axe pun of your choice*

The party doesn't have any time to catch their breath, as they're now attacked by Brahne's new lackey, Lonnie. As usual, you'll want to have Zidane and Quina attack, while VIVI casts Blizzaga. (You can steal a Gradius knife from her, but you'll be able to buy one shortly anyway.) Garnet will spend most of her time healing; while she now has the Ramuh summon, it consumes too MP to make it worth using. When you do 1500 HP damage to Lonnie, she kneels down, but the battle is far from over. Lonnie begins using more powerful attacks (her roll attack can do over 300 HP damage), so be sure to stay healed -- use items if necessary. Again, don't try to revive defeated characters; they'll just get killed again. It takes a total of 5750 HP damage to drive Lonnie off.

Go down the spiraling stairs and the Gargan Roo music will kick in. A Gargant runs by on the ceiling. Head left and pick up one of the yellow flowers. Move right and look for a second exclamation spot. Trigger it to summon the Gargant and transport yourself to another area of Fossil Roo. If you want to go back, just grab more flowers and repeat the process.

While you're meandering around in Fossil Roo, you'll encounter blue manta rays and Griffins; both of these have Blue Magic spells that Quina can learn. (The rays offer Level 4 Holy, while the Griffins possess White Wind.) You'll need to lower them to a critical HP level before Quina can gobble them up -- unless you use Quina's Trance Mode Eat, which always connects.

Head northeast and talk to the miner. He explains how to control the Gargants. To the south, you'll find a Save Moogle that also deals in items and Stiltkin, the traveling Moogle salesman. Stiltkin is offering another of his package deals; this time he'll sell you a Phoenix Pinion, a Remedy, and an Ether for 555 gil. (You have to talk to the Save Moogle first before Stiltkin will deal with you.)

Continue east from the Moogles until you find some more flowers. Grab them and summon the Gargant. It carries you to the east via Route 2; when you stop, go north and colect the accessory from the chest. Return to the screen where the Moogles and miner are and exit to the north this time. Grab the flowers and continue to the right until you find the Gargant pickup point. Take Route 1 to the north.

Go right one screen and flip the switch to divert Route 1 to the east. Return to the previous screen, grab the flowers, and trigger the Gargant point to the right. This time, it will came you off to the east. When you stop, climb up the stairs and head north a screen. Collect the Ether from the chest, then go back south, descend the stairs again, and head north. Follow the path until you find the Route 2 switch point. Activate it, then take the Gargant back across Route 1. Go right and flip the Route 1 switch back to its original position. Ride back to the save point.

Head east from the Moogles and get on Route 2 again. You'll end up in another mining area. The miner here sells the same gear that was available at the Lindbulm waterway; if you didn't get a chance to buy stuff then, you can now. (You can also upgrade Quina's equipment now.) Then climb up all the stairs to the next screen. The Route 4 switch is here; trigger it and continue east. Pick up the flowers and hop on Route 4 from the Gargant point on the far right. Go east again.

 I don't want to Junction!
Summons take too long! </hardcore>

Hit Circle to climb onto the vines on this screen. You can move around in all four directions; however, if you move too close to the bottom of one of the stone faces, it will spray water out and knock you down into the pool at the bottom. For now, let yourself get knocked down, then climb up the vines on the right and exit to the right. Go right another screen and search the barrels in the foreground for a Survival Vest. Return to the previous screen and talk to the miner. Choose the first option and he'll give Zidane a chance to try his hand at mining. If you chip away at the main pillar, occasionally you'll receive generic items. However, if you pound on the upper-right pillar long enough, eventually you'll free a Moogle. MOGNET with him and choose the first option to receive a new quest.

Save and return to the vine screen. Climb all the way up, then head left. Drop onto the upper-left ledge and flip the Route 3 switch. Let yourself get knocked down into the pool, hop out, and exit to the south. Grab the flowers, continue south, and board Route 3. You're dropped off at the exit (be warned, there aren't any flowers here, so you can't get back); go north until you reach the world map.
