The pictures in today's update, for the most part, are not bright, colorful CGs as are often found in fan art galleries. And you know what? That's fine by me, cause I appreciate a good pencil portrait or pen and ink sketch as much as the bold CGs - the two kinds are completely different, but both take the same amount of skill to really pull off well. Today's artists have what it takes, and the personal styles to really make their work shine.
We start off with a rather calm, subdued portrait of SOTN's Alucard, as drawn by Annie Felis. Alex Lazara offers a really cool black and white montage featuring Final Fantasy's classic black mage. Yoshitaka Amano is the inspiration behind a loose sketch of Terra from BigBadW4lf, while Noelle Smialkowski contributes a cute and cartoony take on Cait Sith. Hendrick Sukardi, winged heart, and Petra Rödig each give us beautifully detailed pencil sketches in their own distinctive styles, featuring Vincent Valentine, Squall and Rinoa, and a Parasite Eve creature. Seiferoth's "No Mercy" is our first Galerians fan art, and Never's portrait of RE3's Nemesis fulfilling his dreams is one of the most absurd and hilarious pictures I've ever had the pleasure to post. And finally we come to Xellos_Rogue's portrait of a confident-looking Garr Kelvin, of Tales of Destiny.
Hmm... I was thinking there was something special about today that I should comment on... oh yeah, it's my brother's birthday. Happy birthday, Nate! ;)
