     When I read that prologue page in the booklet, I just about went nuts. "Who is Laguna?" is the same question I'd been asking since the middle of May, 1998! After an initial release of two character portraits, Squall and Laguna, very little was seen of Laguna for months - merely a vague character description, and later a few pictures. Even after the game was released in Japan, I heard little about this mysterious individual who'd managed to captivate me with only this minimal information, and those who imported the game wouldn't tell me much, except that there's not much they could say without it being a spoiler. Finally, nearly a year and a half later, I had the chance to find the answers...

     So who is Laguna? He's many things... Laguna Loire is brave, bashful, attractive... the list goes on. Basically, anything I could want in a guy, except for one small detail: He's not real! C'mon, Square! You made every other aspect of him absolutely perfect, couldn't you have just gone the extra mile and made him real, too? ;_;

     Anyway, since that wasn't exactly feasible, I and other Laguna admirers (if there happen to be any more out there... I haven't met many) will have to be content with mere dreams of this incredibly sweet, funny, and overall wonderful guy. And therefore, this shrine is to compile and inspire the dreams of myself and other Laguna admirers, as well as to educate anyone who may not understand why Laguna's so incredibly great. It's not just that he's got pretty eyes, a cool outfit, and that kind of hair that makes me want to reach up and brush it back from his eyes... He's got all kinds of the most charming positive traits, and his faults just make him all the much more lovable - an interesting, realistic character. And strangely, he's the polar opposite of the other bishounen enshrined here at TNC, I suppose. Sephiroth is cold, perfect, intense, and exotic, while Laguna is warm, flawed, laid-back, and accessible. Just don't ask me to choose, because I couldn't.
