Bandai brings FF VIII cards to U.S.

   As if there wasn't already enough Final Fantasy VIII merchandise, fans of FF VIII's addictive card mini-game can now collect all the cards a second time -- for real. Bandai recently signed on to bring a line of Japanese FF VIII trading cards to North America. The set contains all 110 cards found in Triple Triad, FF VIII's card game, each of which depicts a monster, Guardian Force, or character. There are also 72 extra, "collectable" cards with screenshots, game scenes, and CG renders. "Triple Triad" cards even retain the numbers that determine their power in the card game, so particularly obsessed fans can re-enact the game against a friend with a deck of real cards.

   Electronic Boutique is now carrying the imported FF8 cards. 10 cards to a pack at $3.99 a pack.
