Zelda Gaiden to support Expansion Pak

[08.18.99] » Increased visual quality comes at a cost in development time.

According to the latest issue of Famitsu, Zelda Gaiden will support the Nintendo 64's RAM Expansion Pak -- unlike its predecessor, Zelda 64. The Pak will be used to display additional enemies on screen and provide a smoother frame-rate, though it isn't clear whether the Pak will be required, or merely supported as an extra. A high-resolution mode will not be supported.

Unfortunately, a delay is also in store for Zelda Gaiden: originally scheduled for release late this year, the eagerly-awaited title will now arrive in the spring of 2000. The delay won't affect the Zelda Gaiden's debut at Space World, however -- expect the game to make its first public appearance at Nintendo's exhibition in Japan next week.
