Ubi Soft nabs Evolution
[08.18.99] » Ubi Soft, not Tommo, will bring the Dreamcast's
first RPG to North America.
In a move sure to upset the Kansas Board of Education,
Ubi Soft officially announced today that it would be releasing Evolution
in the North America. Previous reports had pointed towards Tommo as a
publisher for the game, but the France-based Ubi Soft ended up with the
rights instead.
The game will gain a subtitle for its North American
release: its new title is "Evolution: The World of Sacred Device." Evolution
will cross the Pacific sometime this in fall, likely in time to make
it the first Dreamcast RPG released in North America.
"Ubi Soft is pleased to work with Entertainment Software Publishing Inc. to bring Evolution to the Sega Dreamcast for players to appreciate," says Ubi Soft CEO Yves Guillemot. "Gamers will be amazed at the graphical brilliance and engaging storyline that Evolution offers."
"We are very enthusiastic to work with such a pioneering company as Ubi Soft, to bring one of the first turn based RPG titles to Sega Dreamcast," said Yoichi Miyaji, president/CEO of Entertainment Software Publishing. "Evolution's unique battle system, stunning graphics, and inviting story make it truly an enjoyable gaming experience."
