Yoshitaka Amano working on new Final Fantasy

   Famed artist Yoshitaka Amano, responsible for the character designs of the first six Final Fantasies and background designs in FFs VII and VIII, is returning for yet another Final Fantasy project.

   Amano confirmed his involvement with a new Final Fantasy game at the Comic-con in Los Angeles, where he was promoting his graphic novel collaboration with Neil Gaiman, The Sandman: The Dream Hunters. However, Amano stopped short of saying that he was working on Final Fantasy IX, leaving the door open for work on a spin-off title. Amano also did not specify whether he would be returning to character design or merely continuing to design locations and backgrounds.
