   Final Fantasy VIII's exact release date has been the subject of much confusion -- many publications reported it as September 9th, though Square officially stated the game was due out September 7th. The two day shift is now official, however: Square recently changed the release date on its site from the 7th to the 9th. Shipping schedules are the most likely cause of the "delay."
