More on Thousand Arms extras
[08.12.99] » Atlus releases more information on Thousand Arms' packaging and promotion, as well as news of a delay.
As previously reported, Atlus is going all-out with its packaging for Thousand Arms. Consumers who reserve the game in-store (but not online) at Electronics Boutique or Babbages' / Software Etc. will receive a 36 inch by 24 inch poster. (30,000 posters will be made available.) The final packaging will also include a color manual, a sheet of memory card stickers featuring four different characters, a 3 inch by 4 inch trading card, and an offer for the "Thousand Arms: Soundtrack & Multimedia CD," available for a mere $2 shipping and handling.
Atlus has released the entire contents of the CD, and it's an impressive list. 20 Redbook audio tracks direct from the game will be included, making the disc playable on any CD player. PC users will be able to access the rest of the disc's contents: anime wallpaper, a programmable screen saver, desktop themes (including art, icons, and sound clips), character profiles (complete with theme music), outtakes, and links to various gaming sites.
Unfortunately, gamers will have to wait a little longer to revel in all these extras. Atlus' site now lists the game with a September release date, as opposed to the late August date previously given. However, 10,000 free playable demos of the game have shipped to speciality retailers such as the aforementioned Electronics Boutique and Babbages' / Software Etc. -- so if anyone wanting to give the game a try should hurry to their local gaming store.
