Breath of Fire IV announced

[07.28.99] » The fourth chapter in Capcom's RPG series is PlayStation-bound.

   Capcom of Japan officially announced the existence of Breath of Fire IV today. While earlier rumors speculated that the game might see release on the PlayStation 2, Breath of Fire IV will remain on the original PlayStation, the same platform that housed BOF III.

   Few details regarding Breath of Fire IV were released, but the game will retain the same style of graphics as its predecessor: sprites on a polygonal background (a setup also seen in Grandia, Final Fantasy Tactics, and numerous other games). Also returning are recurring characters Ryu and Nina, who, like Final Fantasy's Cid, appear in new incarnations in each Breath of Fire game.

   No estimated release date was given, but word has it that the sequel has been in development for quite some time. Expect more information soon.
