Square announces cast of Final Fantasy Movie

[06.17.99] » Name actors to lend voice talent to CG film.

Japan's The Playstation magazine recently reported on Square's Final Fantasy movie. Details on the Square Honolulu-produced CG film have been sparse up to this point, but the magazine dropped a bombshell: for the first time, the movie's cast was revealed. Square has stated that the movie is being developed with American audiences in mind; in a bizarre twist, the animation will be lip-synched to English voices and only later dubbed in Japanese. Here, then, is the top-notch voice talent Square has acquired for the film:

No information has been revealed about which actors will be playing which parts. The GIA speculates, however, that Donald Sutherland will take the role of the old man "Charles," the demure woman seen in the trailer will be voiced by Ming-na Wen, and that James Woods will play the villain. Hopefully, future announcements from Square will put to rest our endless speculation (and betting pools).
