Blaster Master rolls onto PlayStation, Color Game Boy

[06.16.99] » EPA's toxic clean-up team gears up in shiny suits.

Fans of Nintendo Logic and quality Saturday morning cartoon scenarios have a soft place in their heart for Blaster Master. Its simple story of "boy meets frog, boy loves frog, frog escapes, frog falls down hole in boy's backyard and comes into contact with radioactive waste, boy falls down hole to find suit and cool hovertank" has touched millions the world over. Now, Sunsoft is bringing the world of Blaster Master to life for a new generation of gamers, giving PlayStation and Color Game Boy owners a chance to experience the "magic" of Blaster Master.

Little has been revealed about the gameplay, although the PlayStation version is known to take the series into the third dimension. Supposedly, the first game's Robbie's son takes on the mantle of giant frog hunter - but plots for Blaster Master titles aren't coherent, let alone important. Here's hoping that these titles recapture the spirit of the original - and not the miserable Genesis sequel. Both titles are due for a simultaneous US / Japan release in December 1999.
