Final Fantasy Anthology US details
[06.15.99] » Square reveals additional information on the collection's translation.
Following shortly after its recent explanation for the disappearance of Final Fantasy IV, Square revealed more information concerning its U.S. plans for Final Fantasy Anthology.
As previously reported, Final Fantasy VI will retain Ted Woolsey's English translation and name changes -- the heroine is Terra, not Tina, and Cyan is not named after a pepper. On the other hand, the game will retain its original Japanese title and logo -- the anthology refers to the game as "Final Fantasy VI," not "Final Fantasy III" (its original U.S. title). All the extra FF VI features, such as a gallery of CG artwork and a encyclopedia of game information, included as part of the Japanese collection, are staying intact as well.
Having never been officially translated before, Final Fantasy V's cast may sound a bit foreign to gamers used to fan translations. Don't look for Butz or Lenna; your party includes Bartz, Reina, Faris, and Galuf, and you'll be battling the minions of X-Death. No announcements were made regarding Krile's (aka Kururu or Cara) planned English name.
