Completely unprecedented Lunar: SSS delay

[05.28.99] » Shipping delays mean retail shipments of Lunar: Silver Star Story won't start arriving until mid next week.

RPG fans are currently facing one of the most surprising turn of events in recent video game history: Working Designs announced today that their highly anticipated RPG, Lunar: Silver Star Story, has been hit by a shipping problem and will likely not arrive on store shelves until the middle of next week. The delay is blamed on a fulfillment / shipment problem. While those who have purchased online through Electronics Boutique and Babbage's or direct from Working Designs won't be affected by the delay, all other customers must wait until June 2nd or later for the game to arrive at retail outlets.

"I'm shocked and saddened at these turn of events," commented Patrick Holt, a somber Lunar fan reacting to news of the latest delay. "I mean, who would have thought Working Designs could be capable of something like this?"

"The Lunar delays killed my cocker spaniel, Lucky," wept Working Designs fan Johnny Pathetic, age 6. "We were gonna play it together after my birthday party. But Lucky got sick, and was coughing, and Lunar didn't come. It... Mommy, why didn't it come? Why did Lucky have to die? WHY?"

Sarcasm aside, many gamers are genuinely upset at the announced delay. "I preordered this game back in August 1998," said GIA staffer Andrew Vestal. "Now, I'll be back home in Texas before the game is actually released - leaving me with a worthless preorder in California. Still, I look forward to playing Lunar this September."
