E3: Revelations: The Demon Slayer impressions
[05.15.99] » Atlus' upcoming Game Boy Color RPG was on display at the company's booth. Full details inside.
Atlus was showing a rare sight indeed at their booth: a new Game Boy RPG. A Game Boy Color RPG, no less, albeit a backwards compatible one. Revelations: The Demon Slayer is a Megami Tensei series gaiden - think of it as Persona Lite. Released as "Last Bible" in Japan, the game lets players fight again and talk with enemy parties throughout, just like its big console brother. The main quest will last about 10 hrs (it is a Game Boy RPG, after all), but the play life is extended through the linking functions. Collected monsters can be fused and pitched in battle against a friends'. Unfortunately, monsters cannot be traded. Revelations: The Demon Slayer is due out in August 99.'
